Need help writing a script? Have any question about ScriptFTP?
Good afternoon,

Greetings from Boston, MA.

I am curious whether or not I can use Script FTP to access a server that isn't associated with the FTP protocol.

I have to pull files from a server connected on a different subnet in my office network and wonder if I can simply enter the IP address in the first part of the script as long as rules are in place (on the receiving end) to let me access that computer.

Has anyone had any luck with this?

Perhaps someone could recommend another approach if not Script FTP?

Appreciate any assistance you might be able to provide.

With best regards,

Unless you want to use Windows shared folders you will need to install something on the computer that is serving the files. Try, for example, Filezilla Server. It is fast and easy to install. Then use ScriptFTP in the other side.

For Windows shared folders you can write a batch script instead.
